Sam Halaby, only 34 years old, was born as the eldest of nine daughters in a traditional Druze family in Daliat El Carmel, Israel. Sam has been drawing since he can remember. It was his mother, Emily, who recognized his extraordinary talent for painting at a young age and believed that he brought this talent with him from previous incarnations. She encouraged him to continue painting even when everyone around him urged him to stop and find a "respectable profession". From the age of 13 as a child artist who paints as a "shadow painter" and helps with the household economy, he became an international artist in less than a decade.
